A downloadable game for Windows

A Final Fantasy fan-game with a twist...

A seemingly normal life. An average existence. That's all Kumo Atsureki has ever strived for, as the sole guardian of his younger brother at 19. Working as a hired gun with a young man named Levi Raionomoi, his long-time best friend, they work towards a future where they can do what they like rather than working for the highest bidder.

That's about to all come crashing down when their childhood friend Miri Joumaeshin, co-leader of the rebel movement LANDSLIDE, asks them to aid in bombing a Okam Reactor as a favour, something they can't say no to.

Oh, and a casual trip to Tokyo for a...cosplay convention, of course.

Things are about to get very, very messy, as the fragile 'normal' existence becomes a thing of the past and they become the only hope to save the world.

That is, of course, if they can save themselves...

Originally completed in 2012 and then revamped in 2022 with altered dialogue and more refined programming, Cosplay Crisis is a complete RPG paying homage to the PS1 era of Final Fantasy.

Features:

  • 7 Playable characters (1 secret), all based on characters from the PS1 era of Final Fantasy
  • Fully realised ATB and Materia system, harkening back to FF7 with a few new surprises as well
  • 10 hour, full length storyline melding comedic and meta commentary with a cohesive plotline
  • Multiple side-quest and extra areas to explore
  • Innumerable cameos, some expected, and some absolutely not
  • A zombie apocalypse?

NOTE: this is not stream friendly, despite using primarily remixes. Further information is in the download.

At seemingly random times of the game, the game will think I have an arrow key held down permanently until I close the game. A dissappointment I can't progress the game without frequently losing progress.

This is a very odd bug. Are there any other details you can provide, like your control scheme or operating system? I've never encountered anything like this or had this reported before so I'll need more info to try and replicate it.

In the meantime perhaps try switching from what you're using to an alternative (etc if using KBM try Gamepad) and seeing if it continues to occur. I can say there's nothing in the backend that causes forced continual movement outside of cutscenes so I'm inclined to think it's something interacting with the game rather than something in the game itself.

I'm still on a Windows 7 which seems to get screwy with user devices, but XP predates RPGmaker XP which doesn't make any intuitive sense to me
